This year's Christmas was quite enjoyable for me. I'm not the kind to do hardcore partying, so being with my loved ones is more than enough for me. (:

some pictures )

Last night was dinner at Crystal Jade buffet at Holland V with Xiao Ji and the rest. It was great fun even though I nearly blew out my brains with a gun (if i had one) trying to coordinate everybody's schedule. AND ALSO. I DIDN'T GET TO WATCH AUSTRALIA. BOO HOO HOO. But alright, the company over dinner made up for it, I guess. I swear nobody can put me in such good mood except for these people. No wonder Serene said I was deprived. ): LOL. Stupid Juliana couldn't make it. She was probably busy serving ang moh guys while we were stuffing our faces with xiao long baos. (serving drinks lah! what were you thinking??) And yeah, we forgot to take pictures again. But the buffet was very worth it! Price not very ex, endless xiao long baos, and its steamboat style so its not just about eating dim sum. Angela had a fun time ordering like a million fishballs. And next time, Serene will only eat mutton AFTER we are done with eating, so that she doesn't make the entire soup base AND THE REST OF OUR FOOD smell like mutton. Hahaha. Like what Xiao Ji said, we upgraded from having steamboat at Marina Bay to steamboat at Crystal Jade. LOL.

Extremely LOL moment of the night: We finished dinner and was waiting for ZS to come pick XJ and the rest of us, so we were just walking around. We went past this restaurant with lots of pictures with celebrities plastered outside, probably to show how popular it is. So we were all like, scrutinising the pictures lah.

Cher: "Hey look! There's Chen WeiLian in the picture!"
Xiao Ji: "Wheerrreeeee......"
Cher: *pointing at Chen WeiLian* "There!!!! YOU BLIND AH?!"
AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAA.
Xiao Ji: "Why you point at him and ask that. Very sensitive one leh."
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAA.
I NEARLY DIED LAUGHING.

(omg, even now i'm still giggling to myself as I typed the above. can you imagine how hard I was trying to hold in my laughter when I took the bus on my own back home last night? it doesn't help that the convo kept replaying in my mind.)

Okay, enough of my verbal diarrhoea.

Today I finally met up with Kat and Nadifa. Like, since school ended for the holidays. It's amazing how during the long holidays sometimes you don't see people (that you see in school almost everyday) AT ALL, or at the most once or twice. That holds true even for close friends. I wonder why. Too busy? But anybody can make time if they want- I've always believed in that. I guess effort is a greater key to maintaining relationships. And erm, Kat and Nad, don't worry I'm not refering to you guys. HAHAHA. Anyway, really enjoyed tonight's dinner! I got a shock when I saw that it was already 9 plus when we left Changing Appetite, I still thought it was 7 plus. I know, what a big difference right. This means we ate for like...2 hrs? I think it was even longer than that. LOL. We seriously can talk for damn long man. Changing Appetite was not too bad, though pricing is a little steep for food of that standard. Hmm. Their desserts section is a better option. Not super cheap also, but at least it's value for money 'cause I thought the dessert was quite good (though not a wide selection, I would say). Trying Miss Clarity Cafe tomorrow! (:

THIS MORNING'S REGISTRATION FOR MODULES WAS A NIGHTMARE. EVERYTHING IS ON THE WAITLIST. HOW FANTASTIC IF I JUST END UP WITH 2 MODULES NEXT SEM (THE 2 THAT ARE ALREADY REGISTERED FOR US). UGH. NOW MUST WAIT FOR THE EQUALLY NIGHTMARISH ADD/DROP PERIOD WHICH IS NOT MUCH BETTER. AND I WILL ONCE AGAIN, COMPROMISE WHAT I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO DO AND TAKE SOME MODULE THAT I GUESS I DON'T MIND DOING. PLEASE NOTE THE DIFFERENCE. SIGH. GUESS YOU CAN'T HAVE EVERYTHING IN LIFE.

Oh and because I gave my word...

Click on the above link and show some love to my friend's site! (: I do think the clothes are quite pretty. Not saying that just because it's my friend's site! Haha.

This week is really bad. I've been skipping my lessons like nobody's business. And you know why? Its because of sleep. Yes, that cursed word, SLEEP. It seems impossible to wake up on time these days. On Tuesday, I didn't go for HL103 lecture 'cause I woke up with a headache (not enough sleep 'cause I slept too late). On Wednesday, I didn't go for my morning tutorials 'cause I couldn't wake up again. And that was because I was sneezing like mad for a few hours in the middle of the night, so I didn't really sleep. And today...I was supposed to go for HW111 tutorial in the afternoon. But Nat and I decided to take a short nap first. Haha! What a joke. It became a long afternoon nap instead. By the time I woke up, class started already.

Sigh. I should really stop this. Maybe sleeping earlier than 2am or 3am every night would help. (: I think I have skipped enough classes to last me the entire lifetime man. I'm so ashamed of myself. HAHAHA. I need a few good smacks the next time I skip class because of sleeping.

On a side note, Shokudo is a nice restaurant! (: Its something like Marche, just that it serves Japanese food instead. I think I like it better than Marche though. There seems to be a wider variety, and I think it is slightly cheaper than Marche. I can't wait to go there again to try other food! And yeah, I enjoyed myself yesterday with XJ and Cher at Shokudo. Good food, fun company. (:

But it also reminds me. I miss having dinner with Nat and Janesa. ): I think the last time we had dinner together was that time at Cafe Cartel? Was it? Okay anyway, Janesa Wong, you owe us dinner when you come back. And we haven't go for our TW trip. Tskkk. See lah. Pang seh us for so long. Hahaha.

03 February 2008 @ 01:55 am

This week has flew by in a blur. Probably because I skipped HW111 lecture on Tuesday, HL105 tutorial on Wednesday, HW111 tutorial on Thursday, and left halfway during HL211 lecture. LOL. Yes, I must stop skipping lectures/tutorials.

On Wednesday, I went back to SRJC with Janesa, Belle and Nat. 'Cause Janesa wanted to see the teachers before she leave for Australia. The school seemed to have changed quite a bit. Lucky them. Janesa, Nat and I went to the K-ster at Chinatown after that. It was so much cheaper compared to KBox! The place looks a bit dodgy, and the room is kinda old, but it was okay! The songs are rather new. Haha. We had a good time near the end singing to old english pop songs. Well, not exactly old, since they're like late 1990s songs..but you get what I mean.

Friday afternoon and evening was wasted at Cityhall, where I attempted to shop for my CNY clothes, with Janesa accompanying me. But stupid me. I already went Cityhall the previous time with XJ and Cher, and I found absolutely nothing. I don't know what possessed me to suggest Cityhall again. Even Belle, who only joined us at 6 plus, and she was only intending to buy a pair of shorts, bought her shorts and a top in just minutes after she joined us. I am so suay in shopping. Its either I don't see stuff that suits me, or they don't have my size. Tsk. Dinner was at Kenny Rogers. Yeah, again.

We spent the night at Janesa's place, all were there except for Belle. And...its our first successful movie/drama marathon. LOL. None of us fell asleep while watching, which is amazing! I still remember the last time all of us spent the night together was at Belle's chalet, watching 任我熬游, which knocked most of us out. Haha. We had Macs for breakfast! At like 6 plus in the morning. Nuts right. Its such an early breakfast. After that I couldn't take it anymore, so I decided to head home to sleep. I wanted to wake up at 9am, but somehow I slept through my alarm and when I woke up, I realised to my horror that it was already 1 plus in the afternoon. Damn.

So today, at night, we had a barbeque at Janesa's place. It was a surprise for her! (: That girl didn't even realise anything even though her parents were going up and down to take stuff for us or to bring stuff up. Her parents were damn sweet by the way, they're like super nice people. I will not go into further details of my Saturday, because it just wasn't my day.

I still need to read Jane Eyre, and then get started on Bleak House. CNY week seems bleak(Hahaha, I'm sorry!) now.

And I still need to get my CNY clothes or I won't have anything to wear. ):

My job has ended officially! (: I'm so happy because I can finally sleep in for a week before school starts on the 7th. It was a good working experience, and I had an incredibly nice boss and collegues. I'm also better friends with Microsoft Excel now. Haha. I'm quite glad I took on the job, minus the fact that travelling time was way too long so I had to wake up early every morning.

2008 will be here soon! *We wish you a Merry Christmas...And a HAPPY NEW YEAR!"

P.S: There is somthing baffling me. What is it with guys' dressing nowadays? They are dressing like girls! And I'm refering to those guys in bright-coloured skinny jeans and equally blinding cardigans. ?! Its fine if they like what the girls are wearing, but it is so not okay if they are taking it too far by having the bright-coloured skinny jeans clash with the cardigan. And to these clones, someone should seriously give them a few fashion tips in order not to cause visual harrassment to others.

Since I'm not a fashionista, I only have 2 very-DUH-but-obviously-overlooked pieces of advice to these homogenous kids:
1) Please see if your various articles of clothing clash with each other before you leave the house
2) If you're ultra skinny, can you please don't wear skinny jeans? Unless you like your legs to look like toothpicks. But...why would a normal guy want to look like a toothpick?? And if that pair of jeans is too tight for comfort, erm, maybe a bigger size or straight cuts would be better? (: I trust that you have enough sense to not want strangers wincing at the sight of you in severely "breath-taking" skinny jeans.

Seriously.

I have not study at all for this entire week. I am so dead. I spent yesterday afternoon at Angela's house, with Cher too. She bought some DVDs from Myanmar so we had a movie marathon at her place. So finally, I watched The Devil Wears Prada! (: It was good, I love their dialogue.

And at night, we went for dinner with Serene and Xiao Ji at East Coast's Lagoon. Its so strange that Juliana was the one who was dying to go and in the end she couldn't make it. I was actually feeling quite tired from staring at the tv for the entire afternoon, but somehow it sort of disappeared when we started eating. LOL. I think we could have went on talking for the entire night; conversation never seems to end when I'm with this group of people. I've never understood why we can just talk about anything under the sun, and I'm sure I've said this before. Perhaps its due to the fact that we're such aunties, or maybe its because we all know each other so well that we can be comfortable with one another, and really talk. They never fail to make me feel like I'm really enjoying myself, and we're not even doing much, its just dinner. Yet, I have fun talking and laughing non-stop whenever we meet up. I don't think I even laugh that much during the entire week put together as compared to one lone dinner with them. (Yes that's all boring school can be, at least to me lah.) And its really laughing from the heart, if you get what I mean. Not the kind that you try to give when you know that the moment required you to do so. I don't know what I'll do without the company of this bunch of people. Time passes darn fast when you're having fun, so I can't wait for our dinner at Ikea next Friday! (:

Life is so much better when you have a group of close friends. It almost makes me forget about the looming assignment deadlines and the million readings that I have to do. Almost.

And now I should go get ready for work at Robyn's Purple Sage. It'll be at Red Dot Gallery and the event will last until 2am. I hope I can find the place. /: $9 per hour, I pray I don't regret this. *crosses fingers and think of the money*

I thought I should update a little before fully immersing myself in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I've started on it already and... okay I shall not spoil it for anyone. haha! Although I'm rather tempted to do so.
So, nothing much interesting if you asked me, just what I did this week:

Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix
I told myself not to expect too much from this movie, because the first few weren't as good as the books, naturally. So I wasn't too disappointed when I caught it with Jie Shi at PS on Tuesday. Haha. But! I couldn't help but be quite annoyed that they took out the Quidditch part! Oh man. I like watching Quidditch. ): So cannot see Ron trying out for Keeper lah. TSK. And the way the whole story flowed was a little weird. I'm just glad I read the book because the whole story won't be that easy to follow if I didn't. At some parts I wonder if JS really understand what's going; the cut-and-edit was just a tad too random. Sub-plots and dialogue were chucked in without much explanation. So lots of the time it was really quite random okay. For example, they didn't even develop the relationship before Harry and Cho, and suddenly they were kissing under the mistletoe?! In the book at least they talked and there's more interaction. Sure, they showed that Cho and Harry like each other by subtle hints and stuff, but it wouldn't hurt to just have a bit more of Harry and Cho time before they got together right? I shall just take it that their hormones were really raging. And poor Ron, he didn't seem to have much character in this movie. You can guess what I'm going to say again. Yes! If only they included the part about him trying out for Keeper. hahaha. Dolores Umbridge was good though, I like how that actress (I forgot her name) portrayed that character. She was certainly irritating as hell. (: That laugh, OMG. I would have slapped her if I'm Harry.

KBox on Thursday
Everytime I go Suntec with Janesa (this time with Nat also), we will surely eat Kenny Rogers. I have no idea why. Can we please eat something different next time? Thanks. (: And Kbox session with them, plus Belle, was an overload of Kone songs. LOL. Since Jan really likes them, I can only hope that they release a new album soon so that we can at least listen to some new songs instead of the same old ones each time we go sing together. -crosses fingers-

King Lear
YAY my money was worth it! A few parts were a little different from what we read (e.g the death of the Fool), and some characters were not like how I imagined (e.g Cordelia), but i guess everyone has their own interpretation of the play and characters. (: The two sisters acted really well. I especially liked the parts when they fought over Edmund. Oh and the costumes, so pretty! Haha. Of course, King Lear was definitely the highlight of the play, to me at least. I mean, Ian McKellen, hello? Do I need to say more? And Edmund was really like a bonus. (: Those who were at the play, you know what i mean. LOL.

Dinner at Bugis
And Angela's leaving tomorrow morning to go overseas for attachment for 2 months! I will miss that girl. We went Bugis last night to have dinner together before she leaves. And we tried V8 Cafe for the first time! The food was not too bad. Even the starter, onion soup, was nice. (: Just don't order the beef lasagne, it was so small. Even smaller than Pizza Hut's. The steak, as shown below, was quite nice. But of course, cannot be compared to some other better restaurants lah.

We wanted to go to the Esplanade after dinner, because there was National Day Rehearsal yesterday and we thought we might be able to catch the fireworks. But after taking neoprints (yes i can't believe we went to take neoprints, we were like outdated aunties trying to figure out that particular machine), it was already about 9 plus. The fireworks have already disappeared to outer space. So we went to TCC because we couldn't stop talking (like aunties again). And that's when the real crapping really begins. Hahaha. It was funny because we wanted to stay there and talk, yet still full from dinner to order alot of food. So we tried to order 1 by 1, like after somebody eat finish then order the next one. TCC's service wasn't very good though, the waitress seems to want us to get lost asap, she keep coming over to try to clear our plates and stuff even though the food wasn't finished yet. And their dessert sucks. If you've got money to waste, you can try the Royal Chocolate Mousse. So yeap, that was our 'eventful' night yesterday. SEE YOU 2 MONTHS LATER, ANGELA! (okay I don't even know if she'll read this.) WE"LL MISS YOU! (:
