Alright, I think I'll just update about my Tuesday night first.

So, the Korean Pop Night 2008 that me and [info]_ochre  went to. Thanks to her friend, we had free tickets! (: Yup, we went on Tuesday night when I was supposed to be doing my essay. LOL. And we went even though we didn't know like, 80% of the Korean artistes there.

Anyway... THE WHOLE CONCERT WAS DAMN HIGH.

High as in... Everyone was just cheering and screaming their asses off, like totally. (I guess you can also take it as we were looking at the concert from very high seats...but that's not really the point.) Yeah, even though Nat and I couldn't tell 2PM from 2AM, we were just cheering and hitting our national-day-like clappers excitedly. Don't even know what we cheering for. Throughout the concert our conversations had alot of "Eh who are they ah? AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!"  and "Don't know. AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!". Yes, you get the idea. It was still great fun though. (:

More conversation soundbites of the night:
*Announcer introduces next singer and his name flashes on the screen behind: Kim Jong Wook*
Us: AIYAH WHY ISN'T IT KIM JAE JOONG.

Jae is shy.

*Announcer introduces V.O.S and we started thinking what does V.O.S stands for*
Nat: Do you know what BoA stands for?
Me: Noo. What?
Nat: It stands for Best of Asia.
Me: Ooooohhhhhhh.
*After a while*
Me: Wah. Can you imagine if its Best of Singapore? It'll be BoS. Or Best of Malaysia. BoM.

And finally...after it ended, we went to Kallang Leisure Park shopping centre to use the toilet. We went past this cafe/restaurant called Rosti and started wondering why is it called Rosti.
Nat: *starts singing* Rosti the snowman...
Me: Its Frosty!
Nat: I KNOW LAH.
Me: *starts laughing like shit* (LOL. I don't know why also. But at that time it was damn funny.)

So anyway, Wonder Girls rounded off the night with "Nobody" and "Tell Me". And you can tell they have ALOT of fans because everyone was singing along. Like, even me and Nat knew the English part of the chorus?! This shows how damn popular they are.

Oh! And when the hosts mentioned DBSK (who didn't attend), I think the screams were MUCH louder than those performances that we saw. Hahaha. (Okay lah, DBSK was mentioned alongside Big Bang and Super Junior. But I think everybody was screaming for DBSK.)

*I actually wanted to update about my last few weeks... But I want to sleep already. So... Maybe another day. LOL.

As some of you might know, I went to Elva Hsiao's 3-Faced Elva music showcase. Many thanks to YF for asking me along. (:

That's the screen at the back of the stage. We waited super long before Elva decided to appear.

Well we were actually sitting pretty near the stage- the nearest I've ever been so far, though it was the extreme side. But because my camera can't really zoom much, you're going to be seeing very small Elvas. I'm sorry, mates. Yes, it's going to be the same problem. Elva being larger if you see her with your own eyes instead of on my camera screen.

what you waiting for )

It was a good showcase because Elva was awesome in terms of both vocals and dancing. From the applause and screaming you would have though this was a mini concert instead! (She didn't do my favourite song from her new album though. Sad.) I'm glad I went.. I really enjoyed her showcase. (: And I think after this, I wouldn't mind going for her concert if she made Singapore one of her stops for her world tour next year or something.

One last thing, I noticed she has a lot of male fans. Compared to last night, 小猪's events are like, for a nunnery or something man. LOL.

Because Serene VERY GENEROUSLY give up her free concert tickets to 曹格's Welcome To My World Concert 2008, Xiao Ji and I managed to go! (:

Disclaimer 1: In terms of Mandopop, I'm a 小猪 fan, really. Not a 曹格 fan. Hence, I might not be gushing all over like a fangirl in my post. Having said that, I do think that 曹格's singing is superb, and, well, I don't dislike him or anything. Hahaha.

Disclaimer 2: OMG the pictures are damn small. I don't know how to make them the original picture size on LJ. LOL. And everything is already minimized ALOT on the original pictures. Things are actually far more clearer and bigger when I see with my own eyes. Can someone explain to me why is it like that? Is it my camera that's lousy? Okay, I'm afraid so. NEVERMIND.

pictures of tiny 曹格 )
I went WHOOO!!! when:
+ he did 'Superwoman' as his opening number. OMG IT WAS FANTASTIC SHIT. HE SOUNDS EVEN BETTER LIVE. SOMEMORE THE STARTING HAD NO MUSIC. JUST HIS VOICE CROONING THE CHORUS. WOW. *goosebumps*
+ he did the fast songs like ‘3-7-20-1' and '起床歌' and 'Superman' etc. Made me wish I brought my light stick to wave along.
+ he did the slow songs with alot of emotion. He really outdone himself for songs like '背叛', ‘单数' and ‘世界唯一的你' etc.
+ he sang ‘刮目相看'. I was so touched when he sang this that I felt like tearing. I swear it's his voice.
+ he sang 'My Way'. THIS IS ANOTHER FREAKING AMAZING SHIT BECAUSE HE CAN SWITCH FREELY BETWEEN HIGH AND LOW PITCH. INSANE.
+ he took off his top after his encore song and flexed his muscles (if he had any, I can't rmbr). HAHAHA.

It's a little BLEAHH. when:
+ I saw that 曹格 don't have crazy fans like 小猪 because this means only his fanclub members were standing up during the concert. How can you buy the $168 tickets and just sit there for the entire concert right?!
+ 曹格 revealed to us via showing us on camera that 杨宗伟 is sitting at the first row watching his concert and he wasn't invited to go on stage to sing with him! I would actually rather 杨宗伟 be the other guest rather than that guy. LOL.
+ 曹格 talked alot of cock. Seriously. He can bullshit damn well. Hahahaha. It was actually kind of amusing. 'Cause you know how during concerts there are some parts where artistes have to interact with the audience? I think he doesn't know what to say, and he has quite alot of talking time. SO CAN TELL HE MAKING UP NONSENSE ON THE SPOT. LOL. He said the mandatory, like thanking people and sponsors. Then he don't know what to say he say he want to thank the sun. Like, ?! Then went on about how he's thankful because there's alot of love and all, and we're all here because of love blah blah blah. It was hilarious. Just that XJ and I wished that he would just get on with the show. So cute lah that man.

Overall concert experience: 6/10

It's above average definitely, because 曹格's singing is damn good. Plus his stage design was cool and he had ALOT of stage effects! And XJ and I knew most of his songs even though we're not his fans. Haha. So it was still enjoyable. Points are taken off because we sit at the last row and can't even see his face properly. LOL. And the audience was just lukewarm, so the atmosphere wasn't as high as a concert should be. Also, he did went off-key at several parts (don't be surprised!) but I think they don't really matter actually. Everything is compensated by his voice. (:

02 December 2007 @ 12:38 am

Natalie and I went for the Show On Stage concert on 1st December 2007. Like, FINALLY. We get to see 小猪, 罗志祥 perform live, for a straight 2 hours. And man, it was good. His stage presence, dance moves, the entire performance didn't disappoint.

My voice has returned to normal already; it had turned hoarse for a while after the concert ended. Haha. YAY for 小猪 whose concert was a success! I'm off to bed now! (:
