I wanted to post about this yesterday but I decided against it.

SHINE FOR SINGAPORE, this year's National Day song. Nothing against Joi Chua or Hady, but I don't really like the tune of this year's song. Wait, what's the tune again? LOL okay I can't rmbr already, but I just know that I didn't like it despite hearing it a million times. And...what was 2007's National Day song?? Is it just my poor memory or are the National Day songs not very memorable in these recent years? I do think they should take a look at the older National Day songs and come up with a good one next year. (:

A good National Day song, in my opinion, should:
1. Have a nice and catchy tune that is easy to remember and sing. (None of those weird ones like the one that Taufik and Rui En sang. OMG I can never rmbr that tune even RIGHT AFTER the song ended. A waste of Rui En's good vocals.)
2. Have lyrics that are meaningful yet we can still rmbr them after years.
3. Make me feel proud of the Singapore culture and heritage. In other words, induce the patriot in me! LOL. (Not that I need a song to make me feel like that...but you know what I mean.)
4. Have a well-shot video that reeks of Truly Singapore!

If I were to pick one out of THE RECENT YEARS' NATIONAL DAY SONGS, I guess I would choose Kaira Gong's My Island Home. I thought it was still acceptable and not-too-bad. (:

Those that I thought were really good National Day songs were Tanya Chua's Where I Belong

and Stephanie Sun's We Will Get There.

Of course, this is like the best one ever- Kit Chan's Home.

Or we can always stick to the good old ones that we sang in primary school and secondary school.

By the way, this version is damn LOL. Especially LOL are Celest Chong and Stella Ng here. I don't know the other 2 guys.

And I saw this in the Related Videos. Damn LOL also. LOOK AT FANN WONG. HAHAHA.

Guess the oldies are really better. In my opinion lah. Not sure about you guys. Though most sane people would agree with me. Hahaha.
